SPEECH FROM BOARD CHAIRMAN MWAKABANA

Sportsmen and women yesterday launched the Dar es Salaam modern pool table village in Temeke district.

The village is under the Mpoafrika Entertainment aimed to stage and host international pool table competitions in the country.

The Board Chairman of MPOAFRIKA, Mr. Mwakabana said during the launching ceremony that the village aims at promoting the game in the country and attain the international standard.

Mwakabana said that the game is gaining popularity in the country, but it lacks the high-quality venue to host several competitions.

He said that they have witnessed Tanzanian players compete in international competitions and learn a lot through the game.

“We are planning to host such international competitions in a long run, it can be done as we have already secured the best venue, our pilot stage is district and regional competitions that we plan to hosts,” he said.

The launching ceremony featured famous pool clubs in the city such as Brake Point, Gadafi, Kawe’s Shoko and Texas of Temeke.
There were also individual players from various parts of the city.

Apart of the pool table, the village also has a music studio that has been working with famous musicians like Fid Q, Chege and Suma Lee.
